Lake Havasu is a River town

It was beautiful and warm, as usual. Winter weather like this is one reason Lake Havasu is so full of people enjoying the outdoors this time of year.

I've decided to visit the London Bridge on Sunday. The temperature is supposed to be in the mid-70s, and the forecast is partly cloudy weather, which is good for taking pictures.

Many things to do in Lake Havasu are water sports and things to do in the water. But since moving out of Miami, Florida, I have had little to no interest in the water-related hobbies I left behind. It seems as if I am leaving a hobby behind that I enjoy. I have to tell myself I never want to do that again, so it doesn't bother me to leave it behind. And for me, since Miami was all about stuff to do in the water, like fishing, boating, skin diving, and things like that, I left most of that stuff behind me, both physically and mentally, and took up new hobbies that were more befitting of living in the mountains.

So here I am in a place that pretty much revolves around things to do in the water; since Lake Havasu was built on the Colorado River, not much to do here interests me. So, I'm very lucky to have adopted photography as my only, and probably last, hobby. I can't think of a better hobby for a full-timer than to enjoy taking pictures. It requires very little equipment, and what there is is usually lightweight. It's easy to learn how to do things, and what could possibly go better with traveling than taking pictures of your travels?

So, there's not much for me to do in Lake Havasu except watch others doing what they do and take pictures of it. It seems like the photographer is always an observer and seldom a participant.

Boondocking sunset. I am so fortunate to live in beautiful places. I wake up every morning thankful for wherever I’m at, and I guess that’s only possible because I get to choose where I live.
