Stocked up on supplies
I didn't see any traffic problems developing, so I cruised up I-17 to the closest Walmart, bought a few groceries, and filled up with diesel on the way back. Now, I'm prepared to go wherever my wandering ways lead me.
I feel increasingly like returning to Wickenburg when I leave the Phoenix area. I'm not fond of retracing my steps, but in this case, I feel like I left stuff undone in Wickenburg that I enjoy doing.
It seems like the only reason I wanted to come to the Phoenix area anyway was to do some shopping and watch the End of Trail cowboy shoot. With that done, I have no real reason to hang around here, and at the moment, I can't think of any other place I'd rather be than Wickenburg, and it's only 40 or so miles back to Wickenburg, so it's not that big a deal either way.
The weather here in Phoenix has been great. There have been some partly cloudy days but nothing to write about. The weird thing is that today is the first day that I've seen hot air balloons in the air, and normally, in the Phoenix area, I see hot air balloons every day. Phoenix must be the hot air balloon capital of the entire country, so it's weird to go for days without seeing one in the air somewhere, especially with the weather being so nice.
Thursday and Friday are supposed to be cloudy and rainy in the Phoenix area and also down the road in Wickenburg, so it looks like I’ll be hanging around here until later in the week.

Not every female in the 1800s dressed in fancy duds with 14 layers of clothing covered in buttons and bows. Many of them dressed in ways that fit their harsh lifestyle. If you Google Calamity Jane, buried in Deadwood, South Dakota, beside Wild Bill Hickok, you will see that she dressed pretty much like this lady, which would have been pretty normal for a female gunslinger and mule skinner.
Why am I reminded of a Saturday Night Live skit called ‘‘The Coneheads’’ whenever I see this guy ?
One of my neighbors. I don’t know for sure, but this looks like an ambulance to RV conversion to me.
This is the first hot air balloon I've seen flying around my area since I've been here, and that's strange, considering it's Phoenix, the home of hot air ballooning.
My boondocking neighborhood on Arizona trust lands.
