A mental peccadillo ?

I was going to leave for Wickenburg this morning, so I packed up the camper, got it ready to go, and headed into town. But I ended up doing so many things in town, like dumping my tanks, taking on some water, refilling a propane tank, and other stuff, that I figured I would just boondock closer to town at Scaddan Wash than I was at Dome Rock, spend the night here, and leave first thing in the morning without having to do a bunch of errands first.

I've always been that way, and I don't know why. I love traveling so much, and always have, that I don't want anything coming between me and the start of my trip like I had this morning. I want to get in my vehicle and start my trip right then, not after I have to do a bunch of chores.

I understand it's a mental peccadillo that has nothing to do with reality because I will go to a gas station and fill up my tank the day before I start a trip, even though I have to drive right past that same gas station when I leave in the morning. I know that's not normal; it's just the way I am.

In Colorado, when I would go hunting with my two or three hunting buddies, I would have everything in my truck the day before we were all supposed to meet up at somebody's house so I could get in my truck at 3:45 in the morning and get to my buddies house at the 4 AM meeting time. And what did I normally find when I got to their house?

They were still asleep, hadn't loaded anything in their trucks, and needed to stop somewhere to get gas, a sandwich, and usually a pack of cigarettes.

If you can’t think of any other reason to come to Quartzsite in the winter, it’s worth it to see just about every kind of RV known to man.
