A new video

The days are starting to run together in my mind, one pretty much like another, so it's hard to tell the difference between yesterday and tomorrow. This is mostly because there's not much to do here except walk.

It's too far to go shopping. Silver City is about 20-something miles away, and Deming is about twice that. So, one can't run to the store on a whim; there must be a good reason, such as hunger.

I know I will stay here until after Christmas; I'm just unsure how long after Christmas. I'm paid until the 24th, which is Christmas Eve, so I certainly wouldn't leave then. Traffic would probably be horrendous, and the chance of getting help if you break down would be slim to none.

So I'll still have another week to stay here, which I might do. Or I could leave a few days after Christmas and go someplace else. If that's the case, I would have to think about where I wanted to hunker down for New Year's. What I don't want to do is stay here for my remaining week and end up having to leave the City of Rocks on New Year's Eve; that sounds like a traveling nightmare to me.

The most sensible thing to do is head for Tombstone a few days after Christmas and hunker down there until the New Year's holidays are over. By then, things should be settled down on the road, most stores will be open, and hopefully, any Christmas traffic will be gone by then.

PS….I put another video on the blog; just click on the header where it says videos. I’m still trying to learn how to make these videos without it taking several days. I love taking pictures, but taking video clips is more work than fun. And then putting them in my video editing software to make them into something entertaining is even less fun for me … but I’m working on it.

The pictures are much more interesting around here if it’s cloudy, but that doesn’t happen very often.

This is just a tiny part of the boulder field, and walking through them is just as chaotic as it looks. You could probably spend the rest of your life walking various routes through the boulders, and never go the same way twice.
