Still dealing with snow, still hoping For the weekend.

I didn't get out much today; it was just too cold. I walked outside early this morning and took a few pictures, but that was it. The rest of the day was spent watching the news on the Internet and being thankful that America is safe for the next four years.

I still hope to get out of here on Saturday, but I'm not sure yet. It will depend on clearing the roads on Saturday and how much snow we get in the next few days. At the worst, I'll have to leave on Sunday, giving the roads a chance to melt off. Fortunately, I have no plans or places I have to be. So I'll go when things get back to normal, which shouldn't be any later than Sunday because Colorado is very good at taking care of its roads thanks to our excellent snowplows and the folks who drive them.

And remember, it's not just the Colorado weather I have to worry about. The storm has been hitting southern Colorado and northern New Mexico pretty hard. Trinidad, Colorado, where I normally spend my first night, is supposed to get over 2 feet of snow in the next two days. Las Vegas, New Mexico, where I want to spend a little time, is forecast to get over 2 feet of snow in the next three days.

All that is supposed to end this coming weekend, so like I said, it all comes down to when they can make the roads safe to drive on.

     The last Rose of Summer.

Like me, this frozen Rose waited a little too long and is now stuck in the snow. No one knows for how long, but let’s hope the Rose and I don’t have to stay here until next Spring.
