I re-upped this morning for a few more days at Storrie Lake State Park. I don't mind spending some extra time here because it's a nice place, and thanks to the politicians in Albuquerque, this will probably be the last year that I get to spend time here.

The wind was blowing pretty hard today, so I didn't do much except take a few pictures. The water in the various campgrounds is turned off, so there's only one place we can get water from, which is several hundred yards away from where I'm camped. One of these days, I need to drive over there and fill up some gallon jugs.

Yesterday, after seeing the "campground host" sign at my campsite, three different campers knocked on my door and asked me questions. I explained to them that I'm not the camp host; I just inherited the sign. But being the nice guy that I am and having spent a fair amount of time at Storrie Lake State Park over the years, I was able to answer most of their questions and send them on their way.

Today I tried to cover up my camp host sign with a towel but it kept blowing off due to the high winds. I didn't mind talking to a few people yesterday because we RVers are always happy to help, but I think I better get the problem fixed before this weekend, or who knows how many people will be knocking on my door.

I'm still taking a few video clips as I walk around, and keeping them altogether so one of these days if I'm not doing anything I can try to make a video out of the mass of random clips I've shot. Like I've said before, I enjoy taking pictures and look forward to it whenever I go for a walk. But taking videos..... Not so much.

Road through the middle of the main campground. These are mostly reserve-only sites with one or two first-come, first-serve sites with hookups.

You probably recognize this bird, sitting near my camper, as a rare New Mexican Pork-Bellied Bumble-Beaked Puffin and realize it’s getting rarer by the minute. Since they found out the New Mexico parks system will raise their camping fees, these birds have been flying away in droves, as they can no longer afford to stay here during the winter like me.

This odd looking yurt style tent magically appeared in my neighborhood yesterday afternoon. The strange thing is I didn’t see anyone put it up, and by the looks of it, that must’ve taken quite a while; I haven’t seen anyone around it, and I haven’t seen a vehicle parked anywhere nearby,

So, I will keep an eye on it to make sure it’s not an alien spacecraft coming to take me away because it believes the sign that says I’m the campground host, and campground hosts have a tremendous amount of power to make people’s lives miserable if they so choose…… And that appeals to space aliens.
