Snow in the forecast?

In just a few more weeks I'll be heading South, first to New Mexico, and then on to Arizona where I'll spend the majority of the winter.

For the first time, in a long time, the 10 day forecast is calling for a little bit of snow next Saturday, and the daytime high next Saturday is supposed to be 45°. But other than Saturday daytime temperatures are still pretty comfortable but at night its getting down into the low 40s every night, so it won't be long and I'll need to break out my winter coat, and put away the T-shirts until I'm a lot further South.

It's a good thing its starting to get cold and snowy around here because when the weather is as beautiful as it has been it's difficult to get in the traveling mood since it's hard to go anyplace and have better weather than Colorado does in the Fall. But all it takes is a little bit of snow, or sometimes just the prediction of snow, and I'm suddenly in the mood to put on my traveling shoes and slide South on I-25.

It's hard to leave my family and the good home cooking, but I don't think I would be much fun to be around if I had to deal with snow and ice on a regular basis, and that's the way it would be if I stayed here.

It would make some sense if I was into winter sports and just loved to strap a couple of boards to my feet and go sliding down a mountain at 80 miles an hour, but for some reason, that doesn't sound like fun to me, don't know why, there was a time when it did. But that time has passed as I've grown older and wiser, especially older, and now I much prefer sitting in the shade of a Saguaro cactus contemplating how my life used to be stressful when I had to shovel ice and snow off the driveway just to drive down an icy road to a job.
