I need a place to hunker down
It was a quiet day today. I walked around the campground this morning and took a few pictures, and later, I walked up through the hills that almost surround the Rockhound State Park campground. There is a nice walking path that starts on my side of the campground, goes up into the hills, and comes back down on the other side of the campground from where I'm at.
I'm supposed to leave here tomorrow, and I'm not sure exactly where I'm going, but Tombstone is a definite possibility. Christmas is getting close, and I need to find a place to hunker down for the holidays. I considered staying here longer, but finding a place to stay at Rockhound for more than one night at a time is hard. I don't mind moving, but every time I have to make a reservation at a different site, I have to pay a reservation fee.
One good thing about Tombstone is that it's warmer than it is here in Deming. Deming is okay during the day, but it's still below freezing at night, so I've got to run my furnace and burn propane until I get into bed and cover-up, and then I don't need the heat on anymore.
Another possibility I'm considering is heading back to the City of Rocks State Park. Since I'm trying to save money on this trip, the advantage there is that half the place is empty most of the time, and I can easily boondock almost anywhere I want at City of Rocks, and it doesn't cost me anything except a reservation fee. So technically, I could stay there for two weeks for a $10 reservation fee. Meanwhile, staying at the Boondocking RV Park in Tombstone will cost me $10 a night.
My inverter is running fine now, but I don't know if I can trust it yet. But I'll give it more time to prove itself and stop worrying about it because most towns have a Harbor Freight nearby, and I've got the receipt, so I can always trade it in for another one.
