End of Trail
I moseyed over to the "End of Trail" cowboy shoot at Ben Avery and got there well before the starting time of 8 AM. One of the wonderful things about having your home with you wherever and whenever you go is you are at home whenever and wherever you happen to be. So I climb in my trustee camper, turn on the computer, and make myself a cup of coffee... And I'm home. There's no difference between me sitting in the camper where I'm boondocked three miles up the road on Arizona trust lands or sitting in the camper at the parking lot at Ben Avery's gun range; I'm home either way.
I’m familiar with the old RVer saying, "Wherever I park is home," but that's not true for most RVs because most RVers don't pull their trailer to go grocery shopping if they can help it. And most folks don't drive their giant class ''A'' to their doctor’s appointment; they take their toad. And you don't take your large class "C" to see a movie, because they normally have a toad also. But folks that live in vans or even truck campers like myself are at home wherever they park because we have everything with us, all the time, no matter where we are.
And yes, I know my tiny home is... Well... tiny. And I certainly wouldn't want to live in it with a wife, two kids, a German Shepherd, and a squawking parrot. But as a solo traveler, it's perfectly acceptable once you get over the notion that you don’t need a large space to live in; you don’t have to walk to the kitchen, the bedroom, or the front door, those are things you did when you owned a house that was full of stuff you didn’t need, or maybe even want.
As long as the camper has the amenities to be comfortable and is tall enough to stand up in, I'm perfectly happy.

I love going to these End-of-Trail shoots; everyone there is friendly and love to talk about their hobby.
I don't know how many participants there are in these cowboy shoots, but I would guess a couple hundred, and Ben Avery gun range has plenty of room for everybody.
Too early for them to open up, but this is where you can buy the things you might need to participate in this contest or just look like a cowboy or cowgirl from the 1800s
The cowboys and cowgirls must shoot in different scenarios that test their speed and gun-handling abilities. As you might imagine, many of these folks are old, some very old, so the shooting scenarios are rather easy so everyone can participate.
I doubt if more than 10% of the people who show up plan on winning anything. Most folks are here just to have a good time and to get back in touch with old friends.
Of course, I walked over to the arena where the mounted shooters were doing their thing . Mounted shooting is fun to watch because it's out in the open, so you can see everything that’s happening.
As far as I can tell, the mostly female mounted shooters gallop around on a horse pretending that balloons are their husbands.
