Too lazy to leave

I had planned to leave the Phoenix area this morning, but when I woke up, I still didn't know where I wanted to go, so I decided to wait another day and see if a destination would come to mind.

I can usually think of somewhere to go, but with a heat wave approaching, it’s harder to think of a place where the weather is better and still stay in Arizona. I could go up to Northern Arizona. I know it's cooler there, but I've often found that Northern Arizona is more crowded and more expensive to stay in than the southern part of the state.

I've spent a lot of time in Flagstaff and the surrounding area and never much cared for it. There's boondocking available, but the Forest Rangers are rather particular, which may be due to the kind of people they have to deal with who come through the I-40 part of the state. And I prefer to enter New Mexico at the southern end so I have plenty of time to slowly work my way up through New Mexico to reach Colorado.

I'm leaning towards going to Ajo, Arizona, which is only 125 miles from me. It's a little cooler, and I’d like to take some pictures of the airplanes at the local bombing range. I'm thinking that with all the international problems going on, the fighters may be doing a lot of practicing at the bombing ranges now, giving me more opportunities for a picture or two. Plus, I enjoy being in Ajo, and I hate to leave southern Arizona until I find out what the Arizona flowers will be doing this Spring.

PS. I put my movie of me walking up a hill near Wickenburg in the video section of my blog. Please read the warning and view at your own risk.

Either a place to adjust any bow problems or a tournament for the world’s worst archers.

The firing line appears rather chaotic, likely due to the way I took the picture.

Walking downrange to check their target butts.

Whitewall tires on a motorcycle? I DON’T THINK SO !!!
