Glory be, it's a miracle! Yesterday, I paid less than three dollars a gallon for diesel fuel. Yes, it was $2.96, but it's been a long time since I've seen diesel fuel that low. in fact It was the last time Trump was president.

I've been out walking amongst the rocks. As I've said in the past, I find walking just for the sake of walking boring. But if I can walk somewhere interesting, challenging, and maybe even worth a picture or two, I enjoy it and look forward to my walk.

I figure I'll stay here for about a week or so unless I change my mind. When I leave here, I'm pretty sure I will go to Elephant Butte State Park. There’s plenty of boondocking and a nearby Walmart. I haven't thought of any travel desires beyond that, and there's no reason to make "plans" any further out since I have no idea where I would like to go or what I would like to do that far in the future.

I know my last stop in New Mexico will be Storrie Lake State Park because that's how it's always been. I look at Storrie Lake State Park as the beginning and the end of my winter travels. It's the place I go to hang around for a few days in the Fall and get in a traveling mood, leaving the good home-cooked meals behind and relearning how to fend for myself without starving to death.

And returning from my winter travels, Storrie Lake State Park is where I unwind from months of boondocking, and think about the good times I've had, the freedom of the road, the independence of living alone, and yet how much I miss my family.

But it's not over yet, I've still got my traveling shoes at the ready, and a few roads less traveled are calling my name.

I took a few landscape snapshots this morning while walking around as the sun was coming up.

This was supposed to be a landscape snapshot, but it accidentally became a self-portrait of me.
