How’s the new vent fan working ?
It was another beautiful day in the desert. The temperature reached the high 70s, so I had to open some windows in the Lance and let a breeze blow through.
The new vent fan I installed in Denver last summer has been working great. I can't remember what company made it, but it was some off-brand from China, naturally. When I checked the price of Fantastic Vent fans on Amazon, they were ridiculous, so I just bought one that I'd never heard of before. This off-the-wall vent fan can be operated with a remote or voice control for way less money than the Fantastic Vent Fans I’ve used in the past.
It's very powerful and moves lots of air, but it’s much quieter than the Fantastic vent fans I had before, including in the Arctic Fox. I know six months of use is not a very good indication of how long the fan will last, but so far, that's all I've got to go on, and I'm happy with it.
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about grocery shopping. Where I'm boondocked right now, it's about 40 miles from the Walmart in Parker. Or I can wait until I get to Wickenburg, where there is no Walmart; the Safeway is expensive, and the nearest Walmart from Wickenburg is most of the way to Phoenix.
This is a conundrum, especially when I've been shopping at Walmart for a long time and suddenly face Safeway prices. It's a financial shock that takes some getting used to. But that’s the price one pays for being a traveling man when the freedom of the open road sometimes means there’s no Walmart available.

When your van runs out of space, the quick, easy, and inexpensive solution is to pitch a tent.
While walking through the desert, I spotted this. Someone went to a lot of trouble because each of the letters is about two feet high. I was glad it did not appear that “Ned” was buried here.

Lance truck camper motating down the road.
Most truck camper folks drive like this because they’re usually running from the law or an angry wife.
In this case, I would say running from the law after stealing a bunch of bicycles.
A rolling egg, doing what rolling eggs do best….boondock . The lights from downtown Quartzsite can be seen in the background.
