Not much going on

I climbed up the hill at daybreak, hoping to get a nice picture of the sunrise. The clouds didn't cooperate, and the sunrise fizzled out. But I got to walk around the boulders in the peace and quiet before most folks woke up.

There's a 25% chance of rain tomorrow, which will certainly be different. I've been here a lot of times, but I've never seen it rain. But it's supposed to be cloudy all day, so at least I'll have a chance at a nice sunrise and sunset.

There's not much else to do here other than walking around. I solve that problem by taking pictures as I walk around, but it's still just walking around. I've been taking some videos here, which gives me more to do than just taking pictures. But what I really need to do is buckle down and start assembling my video clips into a very brief movie, but so far, I haven't been in a video-making mood.

Here are pictures of some of my boondocking neighbors. This spot is actually a first-come-first-serve site. I walked around and checked all the first-come-first-serve sites this morning, and they were all full.

There’s a benefit to looking outside and seeing nature instead of a line of RVs.

Now, doesn’t camping in the boulders like this look more fun than camping in the regular campground across the street, where it’s RVs lined up in a row.

I realize some people need full hookups, but look at what you’re missing.

There are only a handful of spots at the City of Rocks where you can park a rig this size in the boulders.
