My days are flying by

The days are flying by as they seem to do when you're getting old, or maybe it's because it's getting dark so early now the days just feel shorter.

I took the one lead-acid 12-volt battery out of the Arctic Fox that I use to bring the slides in and out, hooked it up to my charger, topped it up, and then stored it in the basement of the house so it will be ready to use again next Spring.

Hopefully I can get the Arctic Fox ready to sale next Summer, I really need to find it a new home. But it will be a busy summer for me dealing with the Arctic Fox and other things I have to do. I need to get a cataract operation. I should have done it this year, but other problems got in the way. My driver's license expires next Fall, so I definitely need to get that renewed. And I need to put things in my storage room up for sale, it sure would be nice to not have a storage room anymore. I know that doesn't sound like much to do for an entire Summer, but I have to deal with laziness and procrastination, making even the simplest things hard to get started.

When I was up on the roof of the Lance finishing up the new vent fan installation, which, by the way, has worked great, and needless to say, I should've done it a long time ago; I noticed that the solar panels are in bad need of a cleaning so I dug my large squeegee with its collapsible handle out of the Arctic Fox and hopefully one of these days I can talk myself into getting up on the roof again and cleaning the panels off. They looked pretty dirty, but since I'm plugged into the house, I didn't notice that their output was probably not that great. Plus, the fact that I have only been on one very brief mini-vacation, I haven't put a decent load on the panels to see how well they're doing, but once I hit the road, my life will revolve around those five solar panels and my four lithium-iron batteries.

I took these pictures of the Bass Pro shop while I was in Colorado Springs boondocking in their parking lot with a few other RVs.

It’s a beautiful store if you like outdoor stuff; the decorations are everywhere, and fun to look at.

I always like to visit the archery part of the store, as it brings back many memories. I think I would still carry a bow with me, but I have no room for a target and there are very few places I go any more where I could shoot, even though Ben Avery’s gun range in Phoenix has a large and comprehensive archery shooting area. I sold the bows that I normally shoot when I became a full-timer, but I still have eight or ten old collectible ‘‘Bear Archery’’ bows in storage.

If you’re a hunter or a fisherman, it’s worth visiting the Bass Pro Shop to see the decorations and the large aquarium.

The Lance and I are boondocking in the back of the Bass Pro shop where the RVs Park.
