making plans
I've decided to stay at my daughter's house until after Halloween. Halloween is kind of a fun time for the family, especially the grandkids, and I would like to be a small part of that. So if I leave the day after Halloween, that means I only have about nine days left of my Summer in Denver.
But I'm not a big fan of traveling on Fridays or weekends. Fridays because there are a lot of folks on the road on a Friday afternoon heading for the mountains, and yes, even when it's cold and snowy, they're still heading for the hills, and I have found it best not to be driving or looking for a place to stay on a Friday night. And as for the weekend, it has two strikes against it: one is, there's a lot of traffic on the road doing weekend kind of things, and two, if you break down, it's harder to get somebody to work on your vehicle on a weekend.
So, depending on the weather, as everything always does in Colorado, I would probably stick around here and not leave until Monday morning, which would be November 4th... Inless, I decide to do something else.
My first night on the road has traditionally been boondocking in the Walmart parking lot in Trinidad, Colorado, and I see no reason to change that. It's always been a good place to spend the night and do some shopping for my upcoming travels.
My second night will be at Storrie Lake State Park in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where I'm very anxious to talk to the Park Rangers and find out what's going on with the new fee schedule for New Mexico state parks and what I find out there will probably influence the rest of my future full-timing lifestyle. But the fee schedule won't change until the first of the year, so I will probably hang around Storrie Lake State Park for a few days, relaxing and getting used to being on the road again.
From there, I only have plans to visit the Bosque Del Apache near Socorro, New Mexico, to see the Sandhill cranes sooner or later.
And there you have the most plans that I ever make when traveling in the winter. From then on, my plans will depend on what I feel like doing when I wake up in the morning.

A walk around the neighborhood exposed some very creepy critters lurking in the shadows.
Some neighbors have a very active imagination, or their grandma has been missing for about 50 years.
I don’t know where some people find these large skeletons, and fanciful accoutrements.
The family living in this house obviously needs a 55-gallon drum of Bug spray or a moving van to show up immediately because I seriously doubt if these spiders are the least bit interested in small bugs. Large dogs, maybe, but small bugs, no way!
