To go, or when to go? that is the question.

It was a beautiful day today—mid-70s—with blue skies and the few morning clouds that burned off before lunch. It was a great day to be in the desert.

I took some video today as I walked down the dry wash. I'm going to climb up a nearby hill to get some pictures of the trust land I'm boondocking on. Maybe I'll take some video as I climb the hill, which will give me a few minutes of video that I can make into a movie—a very, very brief movie.

It seems like there are a lot fewer people staying here than I'm used to seeing, and I felt the same way about Quartzsite. It's not like there are half as many people or anything like that, but there are just not as many as I would expect.

I'm thinking I will hang around here for a little while and then head for the Phoenix area. There are some nice Arizona trust lands in North Phoenix just down the road from the Ben Avery gun range that I enjoy staying at. One of the great reasons for staying there is all of the nearby shopping and restaurants. It's always good to have a nearby Walmart and Home Depot when you haven't been around them for a while.

But I haven’t settled on the timing of going to Phoenix. There’s an “End of Trail” championship cowboy shoot that starts today at Ben Avery gun range and goes until next Sunday. and I’m not sure how much of that I would like to see, so I’m not sure what day I should go there.

I’ll be staying at the Arizona Trust lands since the gun range raised their boondocking prices… again. So I don’t need a reservation or anything like that; I can show up anytime I want. But so far, I haven’t figured out when or if I want to go.

The sun silently settles in behind the mountains, erasing all of the day’s dilemmas and difficulties, leaving the peace and quiet to slowly envelop the desert.

And all too soon, the sun appears in the East, waking me from a night of peaceful sleep that comes only to those unburdened by the problems of the world, and promises a new day even better than the one before.

Just down the road from where I’m boondocking is this magnificent tower reaching to the clouds. And it’s presence probably explains the fantastic Internet and cell phone service I’m receiving.
