Making a video is a challenge…a challenge is good for old geezers like me.

I've been working on my brief video of me walking up a small hill near my boondocking spot in Wickenburg. Making this video is slow going mostly because if I don't use my video editing software fairly often, I have to relearn it all over again.

The main problem is that my video-making ability is poor, to say the least, which means that a lot of editing is required to turn my random video clips into a watchable movie. My video editing software, Da Vinci Resolve, is very comprehensive and, therefore, difficult to use. However, my video clips are so poorly done that it takes a complicated video editing software to make them even remotely watchable.

Another problem is that some of the places I visit are not easy to film, so my videos are bouncy and shaky, making it difficult to hold the camera steady, which is challenging enough even on flat ground. But when you're walking over rocks on a steep hill, trying to watch your step so you don't fall, dodging Cactus, all while trying to keep the camera steady, it's pretty hopeless. But for some reason, it's what I call fun.

So the video is coming along and, hopefully, will be finished this week. I've completed enough to know that it's about 3 1/2 minutes long, which will seem like an eternity while you're watching it, but it gives me something interesting to do and makes me happy when it's done.
