Bad weather continues
The weather forecasts for where I'm at and where I'm going seem to be getting worse and worse. The jetstream is dumping more cold fronts down into southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. Western Texas appears to be getting the worst of it since it will be facing the possibility of tornadoes and flooding, so I guess I'm pretty lucky just having to deal with some snow.
The only break in this chain of cold fronts is next weekend, when it looks like it's going to be sunny. Even though it's still going to be in the 40s and 50s for highs in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and below freezing at night, it looks like that will be my first chance to get out of town. I'll have to drive on the weekend, which I'd rather not do, but that looks like my only hope so far.
This is the price I pay for waiting this long to leave for my winter travels. Yes, there's a chance it could be beautiful weather in the late Fall, but there's also a chance it can be terrible. As a rule of thumb, late September or early October is probably the best time weatherwise to get out of town, but then I miss a lot of this beautiful Fall weather, which in the blink of an eye can turn into something resembling winter.
But it will work out; I will have to put up with some snow for another week or so before I can join the line of RVs heading down I-25 south, seeking the warmth of southern New Mexico and southern Arizona for the winter.

My grandson, with the ball between his feet, resting up after having his best scoring game yet.
The tall girl is on my grandson's team. She's a great basketball player, and her height has a lot to do with that. I believe she's 5 foot eight and taller than anyone on her team and any of the other teams. Since she can reach higher than anyone else, she's a force to contend with. Oh, and did I mention she's ten years old, the same as my grandson?
My grandson had a great game this Saturday morning and is shown here dribbling his way down the court.
