The weather is not cooperating
Every morning, the first thing I do is check the weather to see how my traveling situation will be, and so far, it's not looking too good. And the weather is not just looking poor in Denver; it's looking worse farther down the line in Las Vegas, New Mexico, where I'm planning on spending a few days.
Usually, if I wait a day or two, the weather will clear up, and traveling won't be a problem, but this time, the weather appears to be heading for a bad week, and even when the weather is better, it's on the weekend, and I don't like to travel on the weekend if I don't have to. There are some nice days when I could make it to Las Vegas, New Mexico, but when I would get there, the current weather forecast calls for four days of snow during the five days of next week, so getting there isn't the only problem.
According to the latest weather forecast, a dip in the jet stream is bringing it far South of New Mexico, allowing cold fronts to dip down into Colorado and New Mexico. My weather problems won't end until the jet stream gets farther North or the cold fronts space out a little farther, allowing me an opportunity to safely head South.
So, at the moment, it's looking like I'm just gonna have to keep hanging around Denver for a while longer, which, as I've said in the past, is no big deal because there's no place I need to be other than wherever I'm happiest, and at the moment I'm still happy being right here.
